What is it and how does it work?
Two years ago FFHA realized that some skaters (and parents) needed assistance with obtaining hockey equipment which both fit properly and was safe to use. Thus, we introduced this program. The way it works is that we individually fit the first year skaters with new equipment. The parents give us a deposit on the equipment and if at some time during the season the skater decides not to continue playing hockey, the equipment can be returned and we will refund your deposit in full!
Why is this such a great program?
- Skaters are properly protected with safe, properly fitting equipment.
- It eliminates the gap between the kids with the new, cool equipment and the kids with the old, used stuff.
- No more old breezers hanging around your kids ankles.
- No more helmets, which are too large, spinning on your kids head.
- Stress for parents trying to find all the right equipment is eliminated.
- Cost to parents is reduced by us buying in large quantities.
Who is eligible?
All boys and girls who are 9 years old or under and were not registered with FFHA last year.
What equipment is provided and how much is the deposit?
- Termites: ages 6 and under Deposit $65
- Helmet
- Gloves
- Elbow pads
- Pants/Breezers
- Shin pads
* Because the termite age group is just beginning to skate, have very limited contact, and typically move a little slower, shoulder pads are not provide through this program for termites. You may choose to purchase shoulder pads through us at a discounted price of $19.
- Mites and Squirts: ages 7 to 9 Deposit $75
- Helmet
- Shoulder pads
- Gloves
- Elbow pads

REMEMBER...Playing hockey is all about having fun! The purpose of this program is to make it easy for first year players and parents to obtain safe and proper fitting equipment at an economical price. Then all you have to think about is having fun!
In addition, this year, all first year skaters will receive a free LIL' ROOKIE stick!
A special thank you goes out to Mike at JK Sports for all his time and efforts in helping to make this program happen.
